In the junior division, the Oklahoma County team of Adam Dreyer, Justin Lewis, Daroux Foreman and Noland Malloy placed third.

Individually, Horsman finished third in the ages 14 and 15 group, while Dreyer placed fourth in the ages 10 and 11 division.

Writing contest open to students
Oklahoma students ages 11 to 17 can enter an outdoor essay contest sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.

Students must write a descriptive essay or short story on the theme of "Hunting: Sharing the Heritage” or "Archery: What I like about Archery in the Schools and Bowhunting.”

Applicants must have successfully completed an Oklahoma Hunter Education course by the entry deadline, which is Nov. 20. There are two divisions: ages 11 to 14 and ages 15 to 17.

One boy and one girl in the ages 15 and 17 division will win a guided antelope hunt in New Mexico.
