Noted author James Patterson to speak at Oklahoma State University
STILLWATER — James Patterson, author of more than 60 best-selling titles, will be the keynote speaker for the 2012 H. Louise & H.E. “Ed” Cobb Speaker Series scheduled Sept. 14 at Oklahoma State University.
Patterson is best-known for his series of thrillers (“Alex Cross” and “The Women's Murder Club”), however his works also include a number of award-winning children's books. A prolific writer, Patterson has six hardbacks slated for upcoming release.
“The Friends of the OSU Library have hosted an amazing slate of authors for this series,” said Sheila Johnson, dean of libraries at OSU. “This year we wanted someone who not only had an impressive body of work, but who would also deliver the brilliant keynote our guests have come to expect.”
The Sept. 14 event will include a welcome reception and dinner, after which Patterson will speak and take questions from the audience. A book signing will follow. A selection of Patterson's work will be available for purchase.
Seating is limited, and reservations must be made by Aug. 29. Individual tickets are $100, and half the cost is a tax-deductible gift to the Friends of the OSU Library. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
For more information or to make reservations, call 744-7273 or go to www.library.okstate.edu/friends to make reservations.
