MMA moves to CBS: Mixed martial arts debuts on CBS with the "CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fights” at 8 p.m. Saturday on KWTV-9. Who better to broadcast the bouts than the excitable Gus Johnson, who has developed a cult following through his NCAA basketball tournament coverage? Johnson, who has studied Kung Fu, boxing and Jiu-Jitsu, said he'll be nervous calling his first fight. "My goal is, with fresh eyes, is to be able to tell fans that haven't been watching mixed martial arts what's going on,” he said. Headling the five-bout card will be Kimbo Slice facing James "Colossus” Thompson.

Coming attractions: FSN Southwest's Big 12 Showcase, 2:30 p.m. today, 9:30 a.m. Saturday, originates from Oklahoma City and looks at the six Big 12 teams that made the NCAA Baseball tournament and the WCWS. ... Tonight Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor is schedule to make her first visit to "SportsNight — Oklahoma,” 6:30 and 10 nightly on Cox 7. Tulsa is developing plans for a downtown ballpark for the Tulsa Drillers.

Short takes: NBA playoff ratings are up 35 percent on ESPN, 29 percent on ABC and 16 percent on TNT as compared to last year. This year's averages: ESPN, 3.1; ABC, 3.7; TNT: 2.6.
