SATURDAY

No. 20 Notre Dame (2-0) at No. 10 Michigan State (2-0), 8 p.m. (ABC)

Line: Michigan State by 6.

Series Record: Notre Dame leads 46-28-1.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

This series has gone back and forth in recent years, but it always seems to be a good early season litmus test. The Spartans are playing at home and are favored, with the Irish coming off a tight win over Purdue. Notre Dame has won 15 of its last 20 at Spartan Stadium, but lost the last two.

KEY MATCHUP

Notre Dame QBs Evertt Golson and Tommy Rees vs. Michigan State's pass rush. Rees relieved Golson during the win over Purdue, but either signal caller will face a tough test against the Spartans, who haven't allowed an offensive touchdown this season.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Notre Dame: TE Tyler Eifert. The senior needs two catches to become the third tight end in school history with 100 career receptions. The Irish may need to rely on short, quick-hitting passes to counter Michigan State's aggressiveness.
