Numerous wrecks reported in Oklahoma City Friday morning in snow

A number of wrecks are being reported in Oklahoma City. Snow is falling across central Oklahoma.

·        Allow extra space between vehicles, so there is adequate distance for braking in wet and icy conditions.

·        Be aware of black ice, which looks wet on the roadway, but is actually a thin layer of ice.

·        Please be patient, plan trips ahead and allow extra time to reach destinations

9 a.m. Numerous wrecks are being reported across the Oklahoma City area as a band of snow moves eastward across central and south central Oklahoma Friday.

Multiple wrecks are reported on the Lake Hefner Parkway Friday at 8:55 a.m. in the northbound lanes near NW 63 and on the westbound lanes of NW 63 at the Parkway, according to police and fire radio reports.

A rollover wreck with injury has been reported in Edmond on 33rd street at Lincoln.

Oklahoma City police report about a dozen wrecks citywide at 9 a.m.
