Oklahoma City-raised artist Ellis Goodson will appear at Oafcon, sharing his knowledge from years in the video game industry.  Goodson also has comics experience under his belt, and will have comic-book and sketchbook work on sale at the show.  He’s the highlighted creator in today’s Oafcon Spotlight.

Goodson has worked on video games including “Vectorman,” and “Jurassic Park.” He was also a character modeler and illustrator for games featuring the Pixar characters, including “Wall-E” and many more. In comics, Goodson is also known for being the artist of “The Scythe” for Eclipse in the 1980s.

Goodson will have lots of material from his career on hand, including copies of his sketchbook, “Idle Hands,” on sale for just $5.

He’ll also have a limited number of copies of his compilation book “Retro Ellis,” which contains most of his comic-book sequential art. Goodson said he expected to sell those at $20. Goodson also has a limited number of his 1995 comic book “The Bounty of Zone Z” on hand for $1 each.

“I will also do commission sketches, 8.5 by 11 on card stock, Sharpie and toned markers or straight pencils,” he said. “If someone wants me to look at their art, always happy to do that.”

Oafcon will be held this weekend at the Biltmore Hotel, 401 South Meridian Avenue in Oklahoma City. The hours are 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $5 per day; children under 10 free with adults.
