The name coincides with upgrades to the exclusive club, including a newly-renovated course, a state-of-the-art teaching facility and Golf Digest Top 100 Instructor E. J. Pfister.

Oklahoma businessman Ed Evans purchased the club last year with the intention of restoring and improving the golf course while bringing back national recognition.

With the re-branding, the club also has a new logo. Details about the new design will be announced in July, in conjunction with the reopening of Oak Tree National.

Oak Tree Golf Club previously hosted the 1984 U.S. Amateur, 1988 PGA Championship, 2000 PGA Club Pro Championship and the 2006 Senior PGA Championship.
