Al Branch, the executive vice-president and chief operating officer at Oklahoma Christian University, has resigned effective in October to re-enter the commercial real estate business.
Branch was managing director for Trammell Crow's Oklahoma City operations before accepting the OC position in 1999. Branch will become president of Midland, Texas-based Moriah Properties Inc., a real estate investment and development company. Moriah is owned by Dale and Cary Brown, both of whom have close ties with Oklahoma Christian. During his tenure at OC, Branch also served as interim president in 2001-2002 in the wake of the resignation of Kevin Jacobs. Branch was one of three finalists for OC president before President Mike O'Neal was appointed to the position in the spring of 2002. "We are so very proud of our work with Oklahoma Christian over the past nine years,” Branch said. "This university has been a wonderful asset to the Oklahoma City area and community for 50 years. OC makes a difference in the lives of our students and it has been a pleasure to have served this great institution.” Branch's resignation was announced to the OC campus community in an e-mail from O'Neal, who called him "a tireless and dedicated example of servant leadership.”
