Ochelata man dies in Washington Co. accident

OCHELATA -- A 40-year-old Ochelata resident has died after being injured when his pickup ran off a Washington County road.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Aaron Aiken died Saturday afternoon at a Tulsa hospital, two days after the nighttime accident about a mile north of Ochelata.

Troopers say Aiken's pickup crossed the center line and left the roadway to the left. He overcorrected and the pickup then went off the roadway to the right, striking a tree and a ditch.

The vehicle flipped and rotated before coming to rest on its wheels. Aiken was ejected 52 feet from the pickup.
