OCS 'triplets' make it difficult for opposing defenses

The Saints (12-1) have reached the Class 2A semifinal game against Frederick on Friday night in Weatherford due much to the offensive production of the three seniors who are close friends off the field.

“It's almost every day that we are hanging out with each other at somebody's house,” Kilborn said.

Brooks, who is 6-foot-4, has thrown for 2,815 yards this season and 45 touchdowns. His favorite target is the 6-3, 200-pound Barnes.

“He is a big target,” Brooks said of the 6-3, 200-pound Barnes. “He's bigger than most of the cornerbacks and db's (defensive backs) we face. “I have confidence in him, knowing he will be there to catch the ball.”

Barnes has 50 receptions this season for 955 yards and 20 touchdowns.

“This year, we have done a lot of extra route running after practice,” Barnes said. “We have definitely put in the work.”

Kilborn is the most versatile player on the team. He starts at H-back and lines up all over the field, including at quarterback in Saints' version of the Belldozer, what they call the Kildozer.

Kilborn has 15 touchdowns rushing and receiving combined this season.

“What makes them so good is they have really learned to work well together and communicate with each other,” OCS coach Derek Turner said. “They know where each other is going to be all of the time.”

Kilborn said the trio's close friendship outside of football makes a difference on the football field.
