Oakland after a cable snapped on the Bay Bridge, shutting the bridge down in both directions Wednesday.

Like many
NBA teams, the Rockets stayed at a hotel in
San Francisco across the bay.
"This (was) the first ferry ride I’ve ever taken,” coach
Rick Adelman was quoted. "It wasn’t bad. A beautiful day... But you can’t see anything but a bunch of cargo ships.”
Chuck Hayes, a
northern California native, suggested the team take
BART, the underground transportation system, but didn’t mind serving as a tour guide during the boat ride.
Point guard
Aaron Brooks joked how NBA players usually are spoiled with chartered planes, buses and first-class travel.
"It’s funny,” Brooks said. "We make the NBA and it’s like we took a step down from college. But it’s cool... It was nice. Scenic.”
After the Rockets rallied for a 108-107 win,
Trevor Ariza had the best line. "(When we get home) we have to go down to
Galveston and get in a boat.”
