A special broadcast of "Critical Condition” at 8 tonight on OETA-13's "P.O.V.” series discusses the impact of being sick and uninsured in America. The documentary puts a human face on the nation's growing health care crisis by examining the struggles of four critically ill Americans who discover that being uninsured can cost them their jobs, health, home, savings, even their lives.
It will be followed at 9:30 p.m. by the MacNeil/Lehrer special "Rx for Change,” which explores the presidential candidates' proposals for health care reform. At 9 p.m. Wednesday, "P.O.V.” presents 27-year-old filmmaker Joanna Rudnick's "In the Family,” which looks at her experiences upon discovering she has the "breast cancer gene.”
