A police officer who responded to a report of people trespassing and swimming naked in an apartment swimming pool was choked repeatedly by a man being arrested, police reported.

The officer was not hospitalized, police Capt. Dexter Nelson said.

Police received a call about 9 p.m. Monday that people were “skinny dipping” and trespassing at Emerald Court Apartments, 4746 NW 23, Nelson said.

In addition to the nude swimmers, two clothed men were causing problems, the apartment manager told police.

A police officer got into a scuffle with a man identified as Gus Aaron Tate, 26, of Oklahoma City, while trying to arrest him, Nelson said. The officer said he was choked repeatedly and was unable to use his radio to call for help, so he pulled his gun and got the man to comply.

Tate was jailed on complaints of aggravated assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and trespassing.

Also arrested was Dillion George, 21, of Kingfisher, on complaints of trespassing, resisting arrest and public intoxication, Nelson said.
