WASHINGTON — The U.S. Secret Service is investigating a survey that asked whether people thought President Barack Obama should be assassinated, officials said Monday.

The poll, posted Saturday on Facebook, was taken off the social networking site after company officials were alerted to its existence. But, like any threat against the president, Secret Service agents are taking no chances.

"We are aware of it and we will take the appropriate investigative steps,” said Darrin Blackford, a Secret Service spokesman. "We take these things seriously.”

The poll asked respondents "Should Obama be killed?” The choices: No, Maybe, Yes, and Yes if he cuts my health care.

The question was not created by Facebook, but by an independent person using an add-on application that has been suspended from the site.

Contrary to the political lefts vomit, concealed carry permit holders are pretty stable people.. that is why you rarely hear about anyone losing their license due to misconduct. And if you watched the G-20 news footage, it was the leftist teens & young adults who were violent and being arrested.. not the older people who attended the tea parties- example, no arrests at the D.C. tea party. Side note: I hear that after Prez Obama waffled on missiles in Europe, more troops in Afghanistan and sanctions on Iran, the Russian government is rushing to come out with a new game for entertaining its citizens... it is a Prez Obama Weenie-Head game... it is exactly like a Mr. Potato Head game, except it is a large limp foot-long Weenie, and you get a lot of parts to make different facial expressions resembling Obama. Like the "Will Smith" ears and a plastic smile. I did however cast a symbolic poll vote the other night, I ate a hot dog made with a Oscar Myer weenie.

Marilyn, just exactly where and when did I agree with the Senators statement? I did not state one way or the other about his statement. I only said he has a right to his opinion. So quit trying to be the smartest kid in class and actually read what I said. As for the Armed citizen, he came to make a statement that responsible gun onwership is a valued right for all Americans. He and his friend did not intimidate anyone nor did they brandish their weapons. They were legally carrying firearms in a state that allows such activity. For many years, Congressmen were allowed to carry firearms in chambers. Did that make them angry brutes that only wanted to intimidate? Geez Louis, grow up....
willis, oklahoma city - Sep 29, 2009 at 5:50 pm
Willis, ha,ha, ha....oh, how desperately you cling to your guns...why would anyone bring a loaded firearm to any public gathering??? A public gathering intended for people to talk about government policies. No one is saying that person was violating a law but what was the point? To scare people, to intimidate, to quash public attendance?? BTW, Willis, you must have watched the Fox Comedy Channel's version of that speech if you missed the part where Congressman Franks said that because of Obama's position on abortion, which was insane, he had no place in any station of government and was an enemy of humanity.

You're right that Congressman Franks has a right to his own opinion. However, he is calling the majority of American voters insane as well. And I would never consider it appropriate at any level to call our President an "enemy to humanity". It also speaks volumes about the people who consider that rhetoric okay.
Marilyn, Seminole - Sep 29, 2009 at 5:39 pm
Congressman Franks stated his opinion. He like anyone else has that right under our constitution. HE stated that he thought BHOs'POSITION on abortion was "insane", He never said BHO himself was insane. So Marylyn, again your statements were ill concieved and incorrect...
willis, oklahoma city - Sep 29, 2009 at 5:17 pm
Marylyn;
There are angry people showing up at rallies carrying loaded firearms

Again Marylyn, Where and when did angry armed protester show up at any rallies?
If you are refering to the video of a man carrying a loaded assault rifle at a teaparty, the actual clip shows that man to be a black gun owner legally carrying his weapon. He was not an angry protestor, but merely a concerned protestor making his point that he was not an angry or inciteful dissenter of policy.
As for your miopic assertion that I should try getting my news from other than DOK, I would like you to know that I am a FOX news watcher and I also glean the Internet for new from a varied assortment of news organizations. Some of these would include NY Times Forbes Rueters BBC Wall Street Journal Drudge and others.
So little missy, you are mistaken and way to loud for your intelligence curve.
As for your statment that the right wing rhetoric incites violence, why is it that the only violence that is on record since BHO came to power, is from left winged supporters? Answer these questions if you can please...
willis, oklahoma city - Sep 29, 2009 at 5:10 pm
Ah, Marilyn, we meet again. I want to congratulate you on giving Willis sound advice. You see, Marilyn, I'm not as thick sculled and as one dimensional as you first thought. My advice to Willis would be to divest himself of the dok and tune into Fox news at 3,4,5,6,7,8,&9. If there is something you may have missed, you can stay tuned and get a repeat of O'Reilly, Hannity & VanSustren. That should keep Willis in the know and well informed...fair and balanced.

Willis, try watching any news besides the DOK website every day, all day, to post nonsense responses for the sake of writing words. I would suggest you might learn something, but then again, I doubt it. I take it you consider Congressman Frank's comments "truth".
Marilyn, Seminole - Sep 29, 2009 at 4:27 pm

Marylyn;
There are angry people showing up at rallies carrying loaded firearms

Where and when?
This is the kind of rhetoric that incites violence

Should we jail anyone who disagrees with the president or the Left?
Quit watching MSNBC and you might learn something about truth...
willis, oklahoma city - Sep 29, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Who's more likely to turn violent? Conservative Tea Party goers that are part of the base of the Republican party or the environmentalist, Code Pink, Moveon, anarchist types that are part of the base of the Democrat party? From watching the scene at the G-20 conference, I see the Democrat cronies were the ones that were throwing rocks through windows, turning cars over, spray painting buildings and being confrontational with the police.

Point is, Rush, Beck, Hannity and the others are merely telling the news like NBC, CBS, and ABC used to as the left wants to point fingers at the other side because they don't like the spotlight upon their devious patrons.
Brock, Beaver - Sep 29, 2009 at 1:32 pm
GOP Rep. Trent Franks calls President Obama "an enemy of humanity" this weekend in a speech he gave at a conservative forum. At the How To Take Back America conference, Rep. Franks criticized Obama's position on abortion as "insane....he has no place in any station of government and we need to realize that he is an enemy of humanity".

This is the kind of rhetoric that incites violence. There are angry people showing up at rallies carrying loaded firearms. No one should be adding fuel to that. Yet, we have our own Congressmen telling people that our current President is insane, that he has NO station in our government and that HE is our enemy. Our enemy. What will some of these people think they should do about any enemy, not just to them but to the entire human populace. They will think they should save humanity, and take out the enemy. When they do act out, people like Congressman Franks should be held accountable.
Marilyn, Seminole - Sep 29, 2009 at 1:23 pm
I just love how anyone who refuse to sing the praises from the Obama Hymnal is automatically deemed a racist, an idiot or a bigot. The trash talk on Obama is a walk in the park compared to what the left said about Palin, Bush and McCain. At the least the Anti-Obama crowd is keeping the fight to Obama and his policies. They are not going after his family friends and every little thing he does.

No one is to blame for this other than the induviudal who posted the poll and those who were stupid enough to vote on it.

Hunt him(her) down. Arrest and indict him. Let a jury of his peers in a Federal Court decide if he is to be tossed in Federal prison. These terrorists need to be stopped.
James, Plano - Sep 29, 2009 at 11:47 am
Why blame a news service for the actions of this nut? This was an obvious sendup by an idiot. The author of this poll will probably turn out to be some junior high school computer geek. If not that, then a white supremist living with his parents.
It is shameful how the left and the right have gotten down to this kind of childish finger pointing. We have enormous problems with our government. These politics as usual have got to stop, or we will all suffer the consequences. You folks on the left are not immune to being part of the problem. You folks on the right are giving the left firewood with your comments. We are all Americans, and these problems are American problems. Our leaders are not representing the ideals and solutions that the majority of Americans elected them to represent. They are still under the spell of lobbyist, and until we can correct that situation, we are destined to fail as a country.
BHO is only keeping his word that his administration is going to fundamentally change America. Some people call the change Socialism or Marxism, I think it is Obamaism. BHO has a long and self-admitted background in radical social disruption. This has been born out in his homies radical roots. His long association with ACORN and SEIU only add fuel to the fires of mistrust by a growing populous. BHO is doing so much and accomplishing so little, that one cannot help but wonder if this agenda is for his edification or ours. Any way you look at it, we are stuck with this community organizer for the next three years. It should prove to be an interesting next few years...

why is fox to blame for every thing when they report the news the other stations report without the liberal bais the other networks have. seems to me the other networks put a bigger spin on things than fox does. what do you think tony and phyllis?

Matt1,OKC you are absolutely correct it is both sides. It is also people like Rachel Maddow, the Ed Show and Keith O besides the guys on Fox. And put the blame on the person responsible we have no personal accountability anymore it is always someone else's fault. If the citizens of this country cannot take the time to research and decide on their own they don;t think for themselves anyway.

Bill O'Reilly has made it to where I can't even talk to my brother or father anymore. Both are filled with so much anger because "Bill said" or "O'Reilly reported". I lean right, always have but I'm sick of these hate mongering entertainers.

Right wing radio causes most of this. I was talking to a republican friend, and he went off, crazily off, when we started discussing Obama and health care.
I sincerely believe Rush, Glen Beck and those like them, need to be held accountable for the propaganda they spew.
They have taken freedom of speech to the breaking point.

horrible what the freedom of speech has allowed for our country. I think we should vote whether the person who did that poll should be assassinated.
