State wildlife officials unveil massive quail research project

State wildlife officials unveiled an ambitious plan Monday to try and rebuild bobwhite quail populations in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma will be partnering with west Texas biologists to try and determine why the birds are disappearing in the Rolling Plains, which includes most of western Oklahoma and northwest Texas.
