COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio Military Hall of Fame has inducted 20 veterans into its 2014 class.

Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor and Ohio Congressman Pat Tiberi (TEE'-ber-ee) spoke at the ceremony Friday in the Atrium at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus. The ceremony included a reading of each inductee's citation for valor and formal presentation of the Ohio Medal of Valor. Some of the medals were awarded posthumously.

The hall founded in 2000 honors Ohio military veterans who have received medals for valor on the battlefield. This year's class included representatives from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. A hall spokeswoman says inductees must have been born in Ohio or entered military service from Ohio.

The hall's permanent residence is at Motts Military Museum in the Columbus suburb of Groveport.
