The Barons extended their winning streak to six Friday night with a 2-1 American Hockey League win over Lake Erie. With two months left in the regular season, Oklahoma City (22-22-6) has 50 standings points, four behind Rochester and Rockford, who currently hold down the final two playoffs spots in the Western Conference.

“It's kind of like last year when we put a roll together,” said Barons forward C.J. Stretch, who scored his ninth goal of the season. “We put together that huge push at the end of the year and rolled into the playoffs. We're trying to do the same thing this year.”

After he was sent down earlier this month by Edmonton, Mark Arcobello, the all-time leading scorer in Barons history with 140 points, including 53 goals, had seven points in his first three games back with Oklahoma City.

Arcobello is prohibited from playing or practicing with the Barons during the Olympics, a rule designed to prevent NHL teams with non-Olympic players from practicing while NHL stars represent their countries in Sochi, Russia.

Arcobello can return Feb. 19, eligible to play all three games on an upcoming road trip (Feb. 21-23) in Grand Rapids and Toronto. Because of Arcobello's temporary hiatus, the Barons had only 11 forwards for Friday's game.
