The Barons lead a best-of-7 series 3-1 following a 7-3 win Wednesday night. A late-season trend reveals how difficult it will be for the Texas Stars to post three consecutive wins.

Oklahoma City hasn't lost three in a row since early January, a string of 45 games.

The last time the Barons lost three straight was a five-game losing streak four months ago after the NHL lockout ended when young Oilers stars Jordan Eberle, Taylor Hall and Justin Schultz returned to Edmonton.

“That skid after the lockout ended almost put us out of the playoffs,” said coach Todd Nelson. “This team had to fight and claw just to get into the playoffs. Our guys have always answered the bell.”

AHL All-Star Mark Arcobello is best known for dishing out assists, but the Barons' No. 1 center has scored eight goals in the playoffs, including a goal in all four games in the Texas series.

“He's getting hot at the right time,” Nelson said. “He's a playmaker with a good knack around the net. He's shooting the puck and it's going in. Hopefully that continues.”

Arcobello's first goal that tied the game 2-2 in the second period was a lucky break. Arcobello scored when the puck slid near the penalty box just as he was leaving after serving a two-minute minor for roughing.
