CEDAR PARK, Texas — Scott Glennie scored two goals, including the game-winner at the 2:50 mark of overtime, and the Texas Stars trimmed the Oklahoma City Barons 4-3 on Friday night in an American Hockey League game at Cedar Park Center.
A crowd of 5,808 watched the first-place Stars (40-17-8) come back from 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 deficits. Texas trailed by a goal halfway through the third period, when Brett Ritchie tied it 3-3 with 10:45 left in regulation. The Stars scored on two of four power-play chances against the Barons, whose penalty-kill unit ranks 29th in the 30-team league.
Oklahoma City had goals from Matthew Ford, C.J. Stretch and newcomer Alex Lavoie, who joined the Barons from the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League. The Barons played without Tyler Pitlick, who was recalled by the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, and Mark Arcobello, who sat out with an upper body injury.
The Barons (29-26-9) picked up a standings point for going into overtime. They have 67 points for the season, just two behind Rockford for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Oklahoma City and Texas will wrap up the two-game series at 7 p.m. Saturday in Cedar Park.
