With a goal and two assists in the Barons’ 5-2 win over San Antonio on Tuesday, defenseman Brad Hunt moved up to third in the American Hockey League in blue-line scoring.
“It’s a tribute to how good our team has been playing,” Hunt said. “You can’t give the credit to me; it’s due to the players I’m playing with. Ever since Christmas, we’ve been on a roll.”
With 15 games left in the regular season, Hunt already has established a professional career high with 45 points, including 34 assists.
HOME STREAK CONTINUES
It’s been nearly two months since the Barons have lost a home game in regulation.
Following a 5-2 win over San Antonio Tuesday night at the Cox Convention Center, the Barons are 8-0-1 at home since mid-January. Their only loss was in a shootout Feb. 15 against Lake Erie.
“It’s great because you come to the rink every night you just come to play, you don’t overthink everything,” Hunt said. “Early in the season when we were losing games, you were on edge, walking on eggshells.”
