Barons team captain Anton Lander has scored 13 points in 10 games since he was reassigned to Oklahoma City early this month by the Edmonton Oilers. With a goal and two assists in a 5-3 win over Toronto on Thursday night, Lander has scored two goals and has 10 assists in January.

Lander leads the team with 28 points despite playing a dozen games with the Oilers in November and December.

Barons defenseman David Musil was assessed a game misconduct penalty for his hit on Toronto forward Tyler Biggs midway through the third period. It was the two teams' first meeting this season, but it was chippy. The teams combined for 71 penalty minutes.

“Whenever your teammates get hit you're always going to go in there and stick up for them,” said Ryan Hamilton, who played for Toronto last season. “They were doing that as well. I think the fans enjoyed it. They like a few fights and some exciting plays.”

Center Will Acton was forced to sit out Thursday's game with Toronto, the team he played for the last two seasons. Acton was assessed a one-game suspension by the American Hockey League for an instigator penalty in the final five minutes of last week's road game at Charlotte.

Oklahoma City opens a four-game road trip against the Texas Stars on Sunday afternoon and Tuesday night in Cedar Park, Texas. The Barons close out the road trip with two games at Charlotte. The Barons' next home game is a Feb. 14-15 weekend series against Lake Erie.
