The Oklahoma City Barons will play the San Antonio Rampage in the second round of the American Hockey League playoffs. Game 1 of a best-of-7 series is 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cox Center.
San Antonio advanced to play the Western Division champion Barons by defeating Chicago 3-2 in double overtime Friday night. The Rampage defeated Midwest Division champ Chicago in the final game of a best-of-5 series.
The remainder of the OKC-San Antonio series has Game 2 scheduled at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at the Cox Center.
The series shifts to San Antonio for three games: Monday, May 7; Thursday, May 10; and, if necessary, Friday, May 11. All games in San Antonio will begin at 7 p.m.
If necessary, Games 6 and 7 will be in Oklahoma City. The Barons would host Game 6 at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13. Game 7 would be 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15.
The Barons and Rampage played eight times this season. San Antonio, which finished the regular season with a 41-30-5 record, was one of the few teams to give the Barons trouble, finishing with a 4-4-0 record against Oklahoma City. Each team has won twice at home and twice on the road. Five of the eight games in the series between division rivals were decided by one goal.
Oklahoma City (45-22-9) advanced to the second round by defeating the Houston Aeros in four games.
