Amy Hard owned the lucky number at the bottom of a “Price Is Right"-like Plinko board.

“The chip is bouncing around the board, and then it stops,” Hard said. “It’s like you’re on a game show.”

The Oklahoma City Barons executives have been creative on how to determine winners in their vehicle giveaways.

The team brings 20 finalists to the ice between the second and third periods, then uses different ways to choose the winner from there.

Linette England, a homemaker in Edmond raising four children, won a Jeep Cherokee three months ago.

“They dropped boxes from the ceiling with parachutes,” England said. “My box had the key in it.”

Most contests are random luck, but a few require 20 finalists to test their brain power like Jack Mitchell, who won a 2012 GMC Sierra.

“I had to guess the total number of ounces of Diet Dr Pepper in the back of the truck,” Mitchell said. “I did some quick math in my head. I couldn’t believe I ended up being the closest without going over.”
