Hopefully you’ve read about the latest Christmas gift for OKC - the unveiling of the GE Oil and Gas Technology Center set to be built this next year at NW 10 and I-235. This follows news of the 21c Museum Hotel, the cluster of new housing set to be built around NW 10 and Shartel, completion of a deal for the Century Center to become home to The Oklahoman and the redevelopment of the Journal Record Building.
We’re not done yet. Look carefully at this rendering:
There’s a lot about this rendering I love. It shows the new apartments built in Deep Deuce, it reflects our new skyline. But it doesn’t show the Metropolitan apartments that will be built at NW 8 and Oklahoma – virtually across the highway from the GE building.
The rendering doesn’t show the big Christmas gifts yet to be unveiled yet – gifts that will also change this view of our future.
Next week is the 20th anniversary of MAPS, and this legacy will be detailed in a 12-page special section coming out this Sunday.
So will we have anything to talk about in today’s OKC Central Live Chat? You can start posting comments and questions at 9:30 a.m., the chat will start at 10 a.m.
