OKC ranks No. 10 among Allergy Capitals

It’s probably no surprise to allergy sufferers that Oklahoma City ranks No. 10 nationwide in allergies, according to a recent study.

The study blames “Amaranth, Goosefoot, Marsh Elder, Plantain and Ragweed” for the high ranking, along with a high rate of residents who take medicine for allergies. Eight of the 10 cities listed are in the South, including Oklahoma.

OKC apparently has a “better than average” amount of allergists, according to the report.

The report is funded through the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and Dymista, a Meda Pharmaceuticals nasal spray, so take it for what it is.

Meanwhile, an allergy report, via the Oklahoma Allergy and Asthma Clinic, says that weeds and mold are at high levels today:
