George Springer and Jon Singleton homered Sunday night, leading the Oklahoma City RedHawks to a 4-3 Pacific Coast League baseball win over the Iowa Cubs before 5,902 fans at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Springer's homer was his 10th with the RedHawks, and Singleton hit his fourth since joining the team.
AT THE PLATE
Springer, Jimmy Paredes and Marwin Gonzalez all had two hits for Oklahoma City, which never trailed in the game. The Hawks were tied 1-1 and 2-2, before taking the lead for good in the sixth inning. That's when Springer launched a two-run homer. ... Ty Wright had three of Iowa's nine hits. All of Wright's hits were doubles. ... Brad Nelson tripled for the Cubs but failed to score.
ON THE MOUND
Asher Wojciechowski (6-4, 2.83 ERA) had another fine game for OKC. He allowed two runs on six hits with no walks and two strikeouts. ... Josh Zeid notched his 13th save of the season, although the Cubs scored a run on two hits in the ninth inning.
