OKC RedHawks: Three Hawks selected for Triple A All-Star Game

Several players with state ties are on the rosters for the July 11 game in Buffalo, N.Y.

Oklahoma City RedHawks Mike Hessman, Jimmy Paredes and Landon Powell were named to the Pacific Coast League's 30-man All-Star roster on Thursday.

The 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game will be July 11 in Buffalo, N.Y. The PCL All-Stars will play the International League All-Stars.

Hessman, 34, was voted as the PCL's starting first baseman. He currently is tied for the league lead with 23 homers, ranks second with a .627 slugging percentage and is 10th with 50 RBIs. Hessman is 15 homers shy of tying the modern OKC single-season franchise record. Dave Roberts hit 38 in 1965, when he was named PCL Most Valuable Player.

Second baseman Jimmy Paredes will be making a trip to a midseason All-Star game for the third time in four seasons. The 23-year-old is hitting .311 with six homers and 34 RBIs.

Catcher Landon Powell is hitting .279 with six homers and 25 RBIs. He has thrown out 41.3 percent of potential base stealers, ranking second in the league to Oklahoma City teammate Carlos Corporan.
