OKC RedHawks: Jon Singleton's double gives RedHawks 10th walk-off win

Oklahoma City opens the playoffs vs. Omaha at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

REDHAWKS 2, REDBIRDS 1

First baseman Jon Singleton slammed an RBI double off the top of the right-field wall in the ninth to give the RedHawks a 2-1 walk-off win over Memphis in the regular season finale Monday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Japhet Amador drew a leadoff walk to open the ninth. Ruben Sosa, a speedster who played at OCU, pinch-ran for Amador. Singleton slammed a 2-2 pitch that caromed off the wall away from Memphis right fielder Jamie Romak, easily allowing Sosa to score without a play at the plate.

Jason Stoffel, who relieved starter Ross Seaton, who went eight innings, picked up the win.

SPRINGER SITS FINALE

With the playoffs starting Wednesday night, RedHawks manager Tony DeFrancesco gave star center fielder George Springer the day off in the regular season finale.

The No. 11 overall pick in the 2011 draft, Springer's final stats his second full pro season: .303 average, 37 home runs, 108 RBIs, 106 runs and 45 stolen bases, splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A.
