Japhet Amador drew a leadoff walk to open the ninth. Ruben Sosa, a speedster who played at OCU, pinch-ran for Amador. Singleton slammed a 2-2 pitch that caromed off the wall away from Memphis right fielder Jamie Romak, easily allowing Sosa to score without a play at the plate.

Jason Stoffel, who relieved starter Ross Seaton, who went eight innings, picked up the win.
