OKC RedHawks rally past Nashville

— The Oklahoma City RedHawks rallied for two runs in the eighth inning to beat Nashville 5-3 on Tuesday night at Greer Stadium.

With the score tied 3-3 in the eighth, Brandon Laird doubled off University of Oklahoma product Chris Jakubauskas to score Jonathan Villar and give the RedHawks the lead. Jake Elmore followed with a single to right to plate Laird with an insurance run.

Laird was 2 for 4 with three RBIs to pace the RedHawks' attack.

RedHawks right-hander Jordan Lyles (1-1) picked up the win despite allowing the Sounds to tie the game in the seventh. RedHawks starter Ross Seaton allowed six hits and one run in five innings of work. Kevin Chapman came on the get the final out and picked up his first save.

After splitting the first two games, the RedHawks and Sounds continue the four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
