OKC RedHawks: RedHawks start homestand with rout of Nashville

Ronny Torreyes’ bases-loaded, two-run double highlighted a four-run seventh that helped the RedHawks open an eight-game homestand with a 6-1 win over the Nashville Sounds Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Ronny Torreyes’ bases-loaded, two-run double highlighted a four-run seventh that helped the RedHawks open an eight-game homestand with a 6-1 win over the Nashville Sounds Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Domingo Santana had three hits, and Mike Foltynewicz and Rudy Owens combined on a six-hitter.

In the seventh, Jonathan Meyer drew a one-out walk, Andy Simunic singled and Robbie Grossman walked to load the bases for Torryes. After Torryes made it 4-1, Gregorio Petit’s RBI single and Jon Singleton’s RBI ground out tacked on two more insurance runs.

SINGLETON LEADS PCL

Singleton leads the Pacific Coast League with 26 RBIs and eight home runs. Hitting .316, Singleton also leads the PCL in total bases (57).

A TON OF HOME GAMES

The RedHawks played 16 of their first 20 games on the road but began a stretch they will play 16 of their next 20 games at home.
