NEW ORLEANS — Oklahoma City rallied for two runs in the ninth inning, and then Jason Stoffel picked up his third save of the season as the RedHawks trimmed New Orleans 3-2 in Pacific Coast League baseball on Wednesday afternoon at Zephyrs Field.

Ronny Torreyes’ two-run single with one out in the ninth gave the RedHawks (5-2) their first lead since the second inning, when Max Stassi hit his second homer of the season. New Orleans closer Chris Hatcher ran into trouble in the ninth inning, when he walked three consecutive batters before Torreyes stepped up to the plate.

Stoffel retired the Zephyrs in order in the bottom of the inning — on six pitches — to close out the RedHawks’ third win of the series. Oklahoma City can sweep with a victory Thursday night. Game time is 7 p.m.

Right-handers Bobby Doran (0-0, 0.00) and David Martinez (1-0, 0.00) are the scheduled piggyback starters for Oklahoma City. Left-hander Adam Conley (0-1, 15.75) will pitch for New Orleans (1-6).

Oklahoma City will open the home portion of its season 7:05 p.m. Friday against New Orleans.
