OKC RedHawks split pair with New Orleans

The Oklahoma City RedHawks and New Orleans Zephyrs traded seven-inning shutouts in a doubleheader on Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

In Game 1, three Zephyrs pitchers silenced the RedHawks' offense, while Jordan Brown, Jake Smolinski and Kyle Jensen drove in two runs apiece in New Orleans' 9-0 victory.

OKC's Philip Humber (0-4) took the loss.

In Game 2, three RedHawks pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout, Brandon Laird drove in two runs and Jonathan Singleton homered to lift OKC to a 5-0 victory.

OKC's Jason Stoffel (4-0) picked up the win in relief in Game 2. He allowed one hit in 2 1/3 scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

The teams continue their five-game series on Saturday night in Bricktown. Asher Wojciechowski (5-4, 3.06 ERA) will start for the RedHawks against New Orleans' Tom Koehler (0-2, 2.74).
