Omaha, RedHawks split pair
Ruben Sosa laid down a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning to advance Che-Hsuan Lin and Jose Martinez to second and third base. With the Oklahoma City RedHawks down two runs to the visiting Omaha Storm Chasers, Jonathan Villar had the opportunity to bring in the tying runs.
Villar would go down swinging, and the RedHawks would lose the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader 2-0.
Oklahoma City had a season low two hits in the game.
In the top of the seventh of Game 2, with a runner on, Omaha's Max Ramirez flied out to Sosa in shallow right. Sosa then threw a laser to Villar, who doubled off Anthony Seratelli at second to end the game as the RedHawks won 5-4.
Christian Colon hit his sixth home run of the year in the top of the fifth to bring the Storm Chasers within one run of the RedHawks. After Oklahoma City went up 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Colon would hit an RBI single in the sixth to bring in Brett Hayes.
OKC's Game 1 starter, Jarred Cosart, allowed five straight hits in the first inning, but he would recover, however, retiring 16 of the last 18 batters he faced. Chad Tracy hit a home run off him in the top of the seventh inning to give Omaha all the runs it needed.
