MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Oklahoma City RedHawks got some early offense in a 3-1 victory at Memphis on Saturday night.
OKC had four hits in the first inning, including RBI singles by Jimmy Paredes and Marc Krauss, to take an early 2-0 lead.
RedHawks starting pitcher Jarred Cosart reached his pitch count after four innings, but did not allow a run after the first. He surrendered four hits and two walks with five strikeouts. John Ely went the final four innings, earning his first career save. He allowed two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
Josh Zeid (1-0) earned his first Triple-A win after serving as a bridge between Cosart and Ely.
The RedHawks (2-1) and Redbirds conclude the series at 1:35 p.m. Sunday.
