OKC RedHawks top Albuquerque

RedHawks 4, Albuquerque 3

The Oklahoma City RedHawks survived an early outburst to down the Albuquerque Isotopes 4-3 on Tuesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Isotopes scored three runs in the first inning on a Justin Sellers double, but OKC rallied for two in the bottom half of the first and added two more in the fifth to pick up the win in front of 4,102 fans.

At the plate

Center fielder George Springer hit an RBI single in the first inning and added an RBI groundout in the fifth for OKC. Brandon Laird and Jonathan Singleton also drove in runs for the RedHawks. Laird and Jose Martinez had two hits apiece.

On the mound

RedHawks starter Asher Wojciechowski (4-4) went six innings to pick up the win. He allowed three runs on three hits with six walks and five strikeouts. Josh Zeid closed for eighth save of the season.

Up next

After splitting the first two games, OKC and Albuquerque close out the three-game series at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in Bricktown. Brett Oberholtzer (5-6, 4.60 ERA) will start for the RedHawks, while Blake Johnson (6-4, 3.56) takes the mound for New Orleans.

There will be fireworks after the game.
