OKC RedHawks top New Orleans

RedHawks 4, New Orleans 1

Brett Wallace went 4 for 5 and scored two runs, and Carlos Perez and Che-Hsuan Lin had two RBIs apiece as the Oklahoma City RedHawks beat the New Orleans Zephyrs 4-1 on Thursday night in New Orleans.

At the plate

Lin hit a two-run double in the RedHawks' three-run sixth inning. Perez had a pair of RBI singles, one each in the sixth and seventh innings. Brandon Laird also had two hits for Oklahoma City.

Joe Mahoney had two hits and an RBI for the Zephyrs.

On the mound

RedHawks starter Jarred Cosart (7-3) struck out eight in six innings of work. He allowed four hits and did not walk a batter. Josh Zeid closed it out for his fifth save of the season.

Zephyrs starter Matt Neil (2-3) took the loss.

Up next

The RedHawks and Zephyrs close out the four-game series at 7 p.m. Friday. Asher Wojciechowski (3-2, 3.02 ERA) starts for the RedHawks, opposed by New Orleans' Jared Rogers (2-1, 4.79).
