Oklahoma City Public Schools interim Superintendent Dave Lopez is asking the school board to eliminate four executive positions as part of a reorganization plan to improve the district's academic performance, documents show.

Those positions are deputy superintendent, chief academic officer, senior facilities officer, executive director of communications and community relations and chief operations officer.

The people currently in those positions are Sandra Park, deputy superintendent; Cindy Schmidt, chief academic officer; Terry Wolfe, senior facilities officer; and Kathleen Kennedy, executive director of communications and community relations.

Chief Operations Officer Jim Burkey retired last year.

Board members are expected to take action on the recommendations at Monday night's regular meeting.
