THREE QUESTIONS WITH SAM PRESTI
Q: How are Latavious and Tibor doing?
A: We’re pleased with both guys. They’ve continued to develop and be productive for their teams in Germany and Spain, respectively. Both are young players that have shown improvement from year to year. We’re very pleased with where they are and the work they’ve put in, and look forward to continuing to support them.
Q: What do you like specifically about how Latavious has developed?
A: The ACB is one of the premier leagues in the world. The fact that he’s able to show a level of consistency on the defensive end as well being able to impact the game with his activity and athleticism, speaks well to his development from his time in Tulsa and we’re happy for him. Tibor, as we talked about at the draft, is a very diligent worker, he’s a driven individual and has some attributes that we think are really promising for a player of his size. He has come a long way but embraces the fact that he has a lot of work ahead of him, that mentality is something we like about him.
Q: Latavious has been quoted as saying he feels like he’s ready for the NBA. At what point do you make that determination?
A: Well, we’re certainly looking forward to continuing to work with both players during the summer. That period of time will be the next opportunity for us to work with them specifically and will be important to making that determination in terms of where they sit developmentally and how our roster is developing in the immediate and longer term. But we’re certainly pleased with what they’ve been doing. Both guys have worked hard, and we are happy that they are a part of the organization albeit from a distance right now.
