He capped a 10-0 run and tied the game at 28-all with 7:17 to play when he forced another steal and finished the break with a third high-flying layup.

"If I make a mistake I’m going to try my hardest and never give up and get back on D,” Westbrook said. "I’m going to try to do whatever I can to help my team win.”

The Thunder was in a good position late with the game tied at 78-78. But the Wolves, despite shooting just 37 percent and having 25 turnovers, closed the game out by outscoring the Thunder 28-19 in the final period, including a 10-4 run in the last three minutes.

Damien Wilkins scored a game-high 19 points with five rebounds off the bench. Chris Wilcox added 17 points.

Kevin Durant, who struggled with his shot and finished with 10 points on three-of-13 shooting, was impressed with Westbrook.

"He played well tonight for his first game,” said Durant. "I can remember when I was a rookie last year, I was nervous. He said he was the same way, but he came out and played hard. It looked like nothing bothered him. That’s what we need from him all year.”
