Free agent forward Mike Miller will join the Memphis Grizzlies, according to a report by ESPN.com.

Miller had been targeted by the Thunder for the past week, but the 33-year-old sharp shooter instead appears to have opted for familiarity.

Miller was a member of the Grizzlies for 5 1/2 seasons and still has a home in the Memphis area. Miller enjoyed a career year in Memphis during the 2006-07 season, averaging 18.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

With the Grizzlies, Miller figures to receive more playing time than he might have garnered with the Thunder.

DURANT TO PLAY IN 2014 FIBA WORLD CUP OF BASKETBALL

Kevin Durant announced Wednesday that he will join USA Basketball for next summer's World Cup of Basketball in Spain.

“To represent your country, you can't really take that for granted,” Durant said. “I knew last summer I was going to commit and play in the next World Cup.”

Durant held a joint announcement with Minnesota forward Kevin Love from Team USA's mini-camp in Las Vegas. Though most established players decline to play in international events outside of the Olympics, Durant called his desire to again compete for the country “self-explanatory.”

“We're very appreciative of their early commitment,” said USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo. “We think it will certainly send a message to some of our other guys who have indicated they're interested. So we're very excited.”
