OKC Thunder notebook: Kendrick Perkins shows usefulness against Pacers' Roy Hibbert

Sunday, against Indiana, Perkins had his best performance of the season, compiling six points, seven rebounds and a plus/minus of plus-19 in Oklahoma City's 118-94 victory.

On the Thunder's recent three-game road trip, Kendrick Perkins had three points, five rebounds and a combined plus/minus of negative-35 in 48 minutes.

When he was on the court, the Thunder played poorly.

But on Sunday against the Pacers, Perkins had his best performance of the season, compiling six points, seven rebounds and a plus/minus of positive-19 in OKC's easy 118-94 win over Indiana.

And in doing so, the Thunder's much-maligned center showed once again that, in the right matchup, he provides value.

On this night, that matchup came against 7-foot-3 Roy Hibbert, one of the best centers in the league and a guy the Thunder could conceivably see in a potential Finals matchup.

“He's huge,” Pacers coach Frank Vogel said of Perkins' defensive value. “To play with two physical monsters like they have in (Serge) Ibaka and Perkins, that makes it difficult to score.”
