The Scorpions had just taken the court at the start of halftime.

But their Little League game at intermission of Sunday night's Thunder-Magic contest would be unexpectedly interrupted.

Two fans, a man and woman, strolled onto the Chesapeake Energy Arena floor, stationed themselves on top of the Thunder logo at center court and stole the show.

John Koyck threw his fleece jacket to the floor, revealed a white box and held it up while requesting audience attention by pumping one arm in the air. He then asked his girlfriend, Katie, to marry him.

BOX SCORE: THUNDER 101, MAGIC 98

Soon after she said yes, however, arena security and ushers rushed to center court to remove the couple. They were then escorted out of the arena throughout a lower bowl tunnel by an Oklahoma City police officer.

When asked if it was worth it, Koyck told The Oklahoman, “Yeah. Definitely.”

The police officer prohibited a more detailed interview with Koyck, saying they had “some business” to get to.

Midway through the third quarter, the couple returned to their courtside seat.

Koyck, however, declined further comment on his decision when asked to be interviewed after the game.
