KEVIN DURANT NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH

For the second time in as many chances, Kevin Durant has been named the Western Conference's Player of the Month.

In 17 December games, Durant averaged 29.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists on 53.5 percent shooting overall and 48 percent from three. The Thunder went 14-3.

LeBron James won the award for the Eastern Conference. Durant also won the Western Conference's award in November.

RUSSELL WESTBROOK RETURNS TO PRACTICE…KIND OF

On Thursday, Russell Westbrook was off crutches and back on the sidelines. On Friday, he returned to the practice court…kind of.

During the portion of Thunder practice open to the media, Westbrook was seen on a far court, exactly one week after his latest knee scope, shooting free throws with an assistant coach.

QUOTABLE

Steven Adams on what has surprised him about the NBA lifestyle: “I guess it's just a lot flashier. Private planes, expensive hotels, it's awesome.”

STAT OF THE DAY

The Thunder is 4-3 this season without Russell Westbrook, averaging 95.7 points per game. With him, OKC was 21-4, averaging 107.9 points per game.
