The Thunder could be on the verge of bringing back Royal Ivey, according to a report by Bleacher Report.

Ivey, a 10-year veteran point guard, is expected to sign a 10-day contract, the report says. He reportedly is taking a mandatory physical with the Thunder on Thursday.

Through a team spokesman, Thunder general manager Sam Presti declined to comment on the report, citing team policy.

Ivey played two seasons with the Thunder, appearing in 59 games and averaging 1.9 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 8.6 minutes.

With customary starting point guard Russell Westbrook expected to be out through the All-Star break, the Thunder is down to two point guards in Reggie Jackson and Derek Fisher. Ivey likely would step in as an emergency third-string point guard.

Ivey was with Atlanta for training camp and the preseason but was released before the season began.

Miami Heat forward LeBron James told on Tuesday that there's one thing Thunder forward Kevin Durant has that he wants.

Shot attempts.

“I get jealous sometimes when I look over at KD and he's like 16-for-32 (from the field) and then 14-for-34. … Man,” James told the website.

James is averaging a career-low 16.1 shot attempts but shooting a career-high 59.1 percent from the field. He's purposely dedicated himself to being a more efficient scorer over the past two seasons, and he still sacrifices shot attempts to orchestrate the offense and get teammates involved.
