Upon arrival in Oklahoma City, the Thunder became the hottest ticket in town.
Six years later, that remains true.
According to TiqIQ, the current average ticket price on secondary markets for the Thunder’s first round against the Grizzlies is $241.99.
Among the 16 teams that advanced to the postseason, that is the fifth-most expensive. Toronto ($386.39), Charlotte ($308.72), Golden State ($300.27) and Los Angeles ($284.31) are the only ones higher.
Last season, the Thunder’s opening round average ticket price was $249.92. The year before, it was $265.50.
Memphis’ average ticket price for the opening round is $174.46.
KEVIN DURANT, RUSSELL WESTBROOK NEAR TOP IN JERSEY SALES
Kevin Durant finished second to LeBron James again.
No, not in the MVP race. Durant's second this time actually is a career best, as the Thunder forward finished the season with the No. 2 selling jersey in the NBA behind James.
It's the highest Durant has ever finished in the jersey sales rankings, according to ESPN.com business reporter Darren Rovell.
Russell Westbrook joins Durant among the top sellers in the league, ranking 12th in jersey sales. Former Thunder guard James Harden was 10th, and former OU star Blake Griffin ranked 11th.
BOVADA: THUNDER HAS THIRD-BEST NBA TITLE ODDS
The Thunder will enter the playoffs with the third-best odds to win the NBA championship, according to Bovada's online odds.
The Thunder is currently listed with 4-to-1 odds to win the title. The Miami Heat leads the way with 2/1 odds, followed by the San Antonio Spurs (3/1).
Indiana (6/1) and the Los Angeles Clippers (9/1) round out the top five.
At 250-to-1, the Atlanta Hawks and the Charlotte Bobcats are each the least likely to win the title, according to Bovada.
LOVE’S THUNDER ALLEY RETURNS
The return of the playoffs means the return of an amped up Thunder Alley.
Presented by Love’s, the popular pregame festivities on Reno Ave. will begin three hours before to every game and end at tip-off. If a playoff game starts at noon, the festivities will begin at 10 a.m.
The activities include basketball skill stations, inflatable games and appearances by the Thunder Girls and Drummers.
