Is Oklahoma City an NBA town?

Jeremy Gottlieb, a staff writer for bostonsportsmedia.com, isn’t impressed with Oklahoma City in his weekly blog. From an entry titled, "There Should Not Be an NBA team in Oklahoma City”:

"Really now — Thunder? Everything about that game felt so un-NBA like. Two delays because of lousy netting around the rims? Another because of condensation on the floor from ice (there’s a hockey team in Oklahoma City?). All their good players (Durant, Green, Westbrook) should still be in college. The better role players (Collison, Wilcox, Watson, Smith) haven’t been any good since college. The coach (P.J. Carlesimo) had his best coaching days in college. And those colors; yellow and that old NBA standby, teal. I thought I was watching the Celtics scrimmage a CBA team... Someday, the Oklahoma City Thunder will feel more like a real NBA franchise and less like Oklahoma State. But right now they look like they should still be playing in Seattle.”

Baldwin’s rebuttal: Jeremy, the color is sky blue, not teal. It wasn’t condensation, it was Kevin Garnett’s sweat. It would be the same coach and players in Seattle. Sorry you didn’t feel like you were watching an NBA game. Thunder players have said the atmosphere and crowds are much better than KeyArena, which is why the franchise is much better off in Oklahoma.
