Jeremy Lamb came to the Thunder in October 2012 in the James Harden trade. He played sparingly last season, then was a major part of the rotation this season and was averaging 10 points a game well into February. But Lamb’s playing time declined when the Thunder signed Caron Butler on March 1.
How tough has this been, going from the rotation to not playing in the playoffs?
Lamb: “Just been working, staying ready. Just trying to keep my head on right. Stay in shape. The coaches are still talking to me, teammates still encouraging me.”
Sam Presti and Scott Brooks both have mentioned that you’ll be needed in this series. Have you been looking for certain situations in which you’ll be needed?
“I don’t know where or if I’m going to be needed. But I’m just staying ready. If I get the opportunity, I’ll go in and play hard, do my best to help the team.”
When a player sits out for awhile, where are the concerns in terms of rust?
“Just gotta keep your wind up. Make sure you are staying in shape. Keeping your skills sharpened. That’s the biggest thing, keeping my wind up.”
How do you view this entire season in terms of your development?
