Terms of the contract were not known, but Ric Bucher of ESPN The Magazine reported Sunday the deal was worth “around” $18 million, completely guaranteed.

The 46-year-old Brooks became OKC's interim coach after the team started out 1-12 in the 2008-09 season under coach P.J. Carlesimo.

Brooks has since gone 174-125 (.582) in the regular season and 24-19 (.558) in the postseason.

He reportedly made $2.1 million last season when the Thunder picked up the option year on his three-year deal.
