What will it take to win back-to-back NBA titles?

We have to be a better team than last year because everyone else is better. We can rely on things we learned last year but can’t lean back and say what we did last year is good enough.

What was the reaction in the locker room to Barack Obama being voted President-elect?

A lot of our guys were celebrating (Obama’s victory) more than we just beat the Rockets on the road. That was really cool. Players tend to play basketball and usually are quiet about politics. I didn’t care who they voted for. We had some good debates in the locker room.

What was your reaction personally?

It was a neat night for me. It was my dad’s year anniversary of his passing. I talked to my mom. He missed the title and he missed this. My mom summed it up well when she said, "I think he would have been more proud of (Obama’s victory).” I was like, "Why?” She said, "He always envisioned you winning a championship. But he never envisioned (a black president).”
