BUYCKS TO TORONTO
Thunder summer league point guard Dwight Buycks turned heads for the second straight summer while playing for Oklahoma City.
But rather than pursue the third-string point guard job in Oklahoma City, Buycks has accepted an offer to join the Toronto Raptors.
Buycks, 24, averaged 9.5 points and a team-leading six assists in four games with the Thunder's summer league team.
The Thunder had helped groom Buycks since 2011, when he was selected in the second round of the NBA D-League Draft by the Thunder-owned Tulsa 66ers. Buycks spent the 2011-12 season with the 66ers, averaging 15.1 points while backing up Jerome Dyson. In the 2012 Orlando summer league, Buycks averaged 8.6 points and 1.6 assists while playing with the Thunder.
LAMB DOWNPLAYS NEW LOOK
Lamb arrived in Orlando with orange-ish hair, a look he seemed unwilling to explain truthfully.
“I was in the sun too long and, um, it changed on me, man,” Lamb said when first asked about his dyed do.
The next day, Lamb started his interview with a statement, attempting to squash any forthcoming questions about his hair.
“My hair is not this light,” he said. “It's the lighting. Just so y'all know.”
For now, it doesn't sound like Lamb will bring the new look into the regular season.
“It'll be back to normal soon,” Lamb said.
